Happy Island is located on the Arctic Circle 11 kilometers from Rovaniemi and 7 kilometers from the Rovaniemi airport.
It is situated on the Kemijoki River.
The 72 meters long hanging bridge to the island and the exotic Lap style "kota" restaurant for 72 people were built in 1984.
